The price makes this hotel well worth it, though the quality isn’t the best. My single room and bathroom were clean, the towels were fine, and the staff were nice. The location’s good too. With the window shut, noise wasn’t an issue. In summer, if you open it, the room does get noisy. Payment is cash only.

By far the worst hostel I’ve stayed in. It smelled awful, was extremely dirty, and they didn’t clean anything. There was lots of hair in the bathroom, and shaking the sheets sent dust into my face. The noise was terrible. The Portuguese Health system should close this place. Definitely don’t go!

Very cheap, and right in bairro alto, which is a loud party area. That didn’t bother us since we knew what to expect. At reception, there was a very polite man who spoke fluent English, though he looked like he didn’t know his own language :-P. If you just need an inexpensive place to sleep in Lisbon, this works.

The price is decent, the location is probably the best thing about it, and the staff did try to be as helpful as possible. That’s about it for the pros, though. There’s a pub next door, and since the place is basically a “hole in the wall,” lots of guests party in the street, so it’s noisy. The old, narrow buildings may be why it’s so dark inside. The bathrooms look like they haven’t been renovated since the 60s and could use improvement. If all you need is somewhere to sleep at night, it’s okay. Otherwise, I’d pass.

I booked four nights on the understanding that I’d pay the bill at the hotel. A week and a half before the stay, I found out they’d cancelled my booking, apparently because I hadn’t paid a deposit. But the payment was supposed to be made at the hotel when I booked. I wouldn’t recommend them. They seem unreliable and unprofessional, and could leave you scrambling to find somewhere else to stay.
