Hotel do Chile

Not long after checking in, I found bed bugs in the bed. Staff confirmed the problem, but there were no other rooms, so I packed up at night and moved to another hotel to have somewhere safe to sleep. I had to pay for the same night twice. The hotel later refused to cover the full extra cost, although the situation was caused by its poor hygiene. Extremely disappointing. I don't recommend this hotel.

It's close to Arrois metro station, on the line running south toward downtown. The rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms good. The included breakfast was basic but enough. Internet speed was awful by 2025 standards. The shower had barely any hot water, which you need in winter. The AC in my room either didn't work or doesn't have a heater option.

The hotel may have been decent ten years ago, but now it smells of mold and still doesn't feel clean after housekeeping. My own stay was as bad as it could be: I was bitten by bedbugs or something similar and reacted so badly that I had to go to the ER twice. Our group moved hotels after the first night, but the rest of my week and the trip were ruined. The location is only okay. I also don't feel comfortable when I'm told not to move around or walk by the next two metro stations at night.

Be careful of bedbugs here. We were badly bitten, with bites all over my body, including my face and forehead. I even saw one crawling on the table beside the bed myself. We told the hotel right away, but they didn't apologize or accept responsibility. They said they would refund only the room and wouldn't pay for the extra costs we're facing to treat the bites and keep bedbugs from coming into our home. After that, they stopped replying. I also saw reviews from guests describing the same problem two weeks before we stayed, so it had been going on for at least that long. I strongly recommend finding another place.
