For what we paid, Dumont Lisbon Guesthouse gave my wife and me everything we wanted. We spent six nights in a room with a sofa, desk, and private bathroom, though most rooms share bathrooms. There’s shared use of the laundry, kitchen, fridge, stove, cupboard space, and terrace. The older building is well maintained, and check-in is self-service, with no staff onsite. It worked well for us because transit is nearby and there are short walks to excellent, reasonably priced family-run restaurants, cafes, and bars of all kinds. We were on the third floor, so be ready for indoor stairs and the hilly streets and stairways typical of Lisbon outside Baixa. There’s no concierge, pool, room service, or parking. If you need those, look elsewhere. Thanks for a great stay!

The street parking costs money on weekdays but is free on weekends. It’s a great place near the town center, with a short walk to the popular spots for the classic sunset view.

I was surprised the reviews were so good. The room was filthy and very dark, so it was hard to notice the dust at first. I booked it just to get five hours of sleep before going to the airport, but the bed was uncomfortable and I kept sneezing and having an allergic reaction. If you’re allergic to dust, avoid this place. I left for the airport in the middle of the night and still ended up paying around 100 euros for that dirty room. The toilet was dirty too, as shown in the pictures, and the room in the videos. Check-in was complicated. I never got the email with the codes to enter the building and room, but several emails about paying the 2 euro city tax did arrive. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Cleanest place we stayed in ❤️. The room and bed were comfortable and really nice. The kitchen was well organized, with a separate spot for each guest’s food. This was the best shared accommodation we had in Portugal.

The common areas were a nice bonus: courtyard, TV room, and kitchen. Rooms are small but stylish and well appointed, and the value for money is very good. The owner communicated really well, which mattered since this is an apartment without reception. We had a terrific stay, thanks!
