Ferraria XVI FLH Hotels

I was quite happy here and would stay again on a return to Lisbon. It’s a quiet adults-only hotel, and I never heard neighbors, not even a TV or shower or toilet flushing. Staff were helpful and friendly, and there’s a bottle of Tawny port wine in the room every day, at least with my package. The location is perfect for this little boutique hotel, with everything walkable. The walking street behind it can get noisy, though the windows block sound fairly well unless the room gets too hot and you need to open one. Downstairs in the basement there’s a nice breakfast area with a continental buffet and a 24-hour coffee and tea break option, with tea biscuits or moist cake. There’s no cook-to-order menu, which might be tough for Americans used to sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, and cereal. The room has free wifi, a mini bar, standard bathroom amenities, and a manual bidet. Slippers are provided, but no toothbrush or toothpaste. The TV is smart, so you can cast your android phone to it. USB charging ports are on both sides of the bed, though wall outlets are only on one side.

We picked this hotel based on Google reviews and were very happy with our stay. The staff were friendly, and the room was very comfortable, about the size you’d expect in central Lisbon. It’s right in the middle of things, around a 5-minute walk to the Metro and about 10 minutes to the sea, with lots of places to eat on the surrounding streets. There was a good breakfast selection in an attractive basement room. You could also get tea and coffee there during the day, with cake in the afternoon.

As a solo traveller, I really appreciated how accommodating the hotel was about storing my luggage. Being able to use the downstairs seating area, tea, and coffee before and after check-out made a big difference. The service stood out, especially the women on staff, who were fantastic, warm, friendly, and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely, with fresh orange juice as a highlight. Ferraria XVI Lisbon has an outstanding location, easily a 9.8/10 for me. Major sights, transport, restaurants, cafés, and shops are all within walking distance, which made exploring Lisbon incredibly convenient. The hotel was comfortable, though it felt a little small for a 5-star property. My room was clean and had excellent beds, but could use more space and a few extra bathroom amenities. A leaflet mentioned room service and a menu, but those didn’t seem to be available. I’d definitely stay again when I visit Lisbon.

Check-in was perfect. We arrived around 8am, and they let us have breakfast before holding our suitcases while we wandered around the city until later, when we came back to check in. The staff were the best and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I also absolutely loved the handwritten note left on our bed. Farraria XVI is right in central Lisbon, within walking distance of the major sights. The location couldn’t have been better. This hotel is 10/10, and we’re definitely coming back to spend more time in Lisbon.
