The owner refused to refund me after denying an option that the guest house had advertised. I booked a non-refundable stay about six weeks ahead, relying on the posted policy that late check-in was available for €20. My travel plans required arriving late, so I told the owner on the day I booked. Later that day, he said late check-in wasn't available. I pointed out the policy, but he still refused. Since I needed that option, I asked if they could cancel and return my payment so I could book somewhere that could accommodate me. They declined because the reservation was non-refundable. Accepting a booking based on a listed service, then refusing both the service and a refund when you can't provide it, doesn't seem right to me, regardless of the booking type. Travelers should be aware that the policies on this hotel's page may not be honored. If your plans rely on a particular option or service, you may want to reconsider staying here.

The bed was very soft and comfortable, and I slept well. My single room had no windows, and the room and both shared bathrooms were clean and well maintained. One bathroom has a shower, the other a bathtub. I used the bathtub at night and didn't have to wait or share it with anyone. The walls are thin, though, so you can hear guests talking or unlocking doors, which could bother light sleepers. Check-in is in person with the key handed over directly, so contact them beforehand to arrange it. I spoke with the owner, Emilia, on my last day. She was lovely and a wonderful host ❤️.

Emilia was one of the highlights of our first visit to Lisbon. She was always glad to help, shared stories about her family and life, and made us laugh. She and her colleague kept the guest house very clean and were easy to reach on WhatsApp when needed. The kitchen and bathrooms were great, and laundry was available at a reasonable price. We stayed for a couple of weeks. The interior is wooden, like many Lisbon houses, so there can be some noise, but it didn't bother us much. It's reasonably close to the city centre, and getting around by Bolts or public transport was easy. Thanks so much, Emilia. We couldn't have asked for more and will definitely stay here again when we're back in Lisbon.

Emilia is very hospitable. She'll show you around the house and, if you want, suggest places worth seeing in Lisbon. The guest house has a kitchen and two shared bathrooms and toilets. My room was clean and had a good bed. It can get a bit loud at night, though the noise dies down later; planes overhead caused little or no disturbance. Lisbon has more to offer than the classic city centre, including plenty of nature, so Portugal is certainly worth considering for a holiday if you've never visited. In my opinion, this guest house is highly recommended.

For two people, we paid around 140 euros for four nights, which I thought was very budget-friendly. The location was lovely, and I liked the old house with its big keys 💕. Our room had what we needed, and the shared kitchen was useful and clean. It was our first time in Portugal, in January this year, and a huge thank you to our lovely host. I'll never forget the experience. I found the place exceptionally clean, surprisingly so since it was almost full toward the end of the week. Sharing with other guests means you have to get a bit lucky with your neighbours, but for a budget stay, it was well worth it :)
