InterContinental Lisbon by IHG

I had a river view room after an upgrade, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The room and lobby were spotless, with fresh flowers in the nicely decorated lobby. Staff at both reception and the bar were genuinely friendly. The hotel is on Avenida da Liberdade, a very upscale area. My Uber driver said Cristiano Ronaldo’s penthouse was a couple of doors down. Marquês de Pombal metro is about a ten-minute walk, with a direct line to the old town and Bairro Alto. Estufa Fria botanical garden is across the road and worth spending an hour at. The WiFi was unreliable, and streaming to the room TV didn’t work. Staff said the new TVs had just been installed and were having teething issues. My phone’s 5G worked, and everything else was so good that I didn’t feel it was fair to take off a star for what seemed like a temporary, fixable problem.

The hotel is pleasant, though not especially fancy. Our room and bathroom were both spacious, and I liked the amenities. The entrance faces a lovely park, literally right outside. Everyone we met was friendly and professional. Breakfast was okay. We used Ubers and the tube to get to the center, and there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance.

This hotel is fantastic, as always. A big thank you to Orlando with Concierge, who gave us great information and helped arrange tours and restaurant bookings. He was always there when we needed him. Ramesh was also very helpful and made us feel welcome, and Dafindeer was excellent too. Sorry if I’ve got his name misspelled.

The bed was very comfortable, and the hotel’s location made it easy to get to the center. Our room looked onto the parking lot and felt a bit dated, like it needs a refresh. Valet parking service wasn’t very attentive, and the lounge service was just okay. They initially missed our afternoon tea reservation. Some of the staff didn’t speak English well.
