Lisboa Prata Boutique Hotel

I paid cash for the minibar at checkout, but they still charged it to my credit card. I tried getting in touch through WhatsApp and heard nothing for a long time. The service was poor.

They first put us in a room below the standard we’d been promised. It took until the next day to move us into the room we’d reserved, and there was no apology for the inconvenience. The manager’s behavior was completely unacceptable.

Our room had plenty of space, and the water pressure was fantastic. They only gave us a few towels and a little toilet paper, though I think they may have been trying to be eco-friendly. The hotel sits on a car-free street, felt very safe, and has plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. It’s central enough to get everywhere easily, but just far enough from the busiest part of town. We had a great stay.

The only real problem was the in-room safe, which didn’t work. I’d seen other reviews mention that too. Otherwise, our room was clean and spacious, with a large queen or king bed, a roomy walk-in shower, clean linens, and enough space for our luggage. There was a minibar, but with plenty of mercados nearby, we didn’t use it. We arrived before check-out, and reception was happy to hold our bags, though there was no locked storage. They tagged the luggage and left it in a corner of the lobby behind reception. The hotel was easy to find, central, well furnished, and spacious. We stayed two nights at the beginning of September. It was a 5-10 minute walk from several downtown sights. The walls seemed a bit thin, since we could hear hallway and next-room noise, but I think that’s fairly common in hotels like this.
