Alfama Apartment

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment may be small, but it’s clean and has all the amenities. You can walk to the city center, and it was easy to communicate with the hosts.

The receptionist helped me when I lost my house keys, and handled it with empathy and efficiency. They also insisted on carrying my case. I felt a bit embarrassed at first, but by the time we reached the apartment, I was glad they had. I stayed here during Websummit 2025 in November. The location was great, and although the apartment was small, it was clean. During our stay, the cleaning staff came in to refresh the tea and coffee, make the bed and replenish the toilet roll. We booked what was presented as a spacious apartment with a view, but instead got a room that felt like a cupboard with a bed squeezed into it. The photos looked far more impressive than what we found in person. The location was good, but after hauling our cases up the steep, narrow stairs, we could barely find space to unpack. I’m glad we only stayed two nights. Our flight was delayed, so we arrived late at night. Check-in itself was easy, though we had to collect the key somewhere other than the apartment.

Our stay was amazing, and we’d highly recommend these apartments. The layout is great, there’s everything you could need, and the walls and windows do a good job blocking noise from downstairs. It’s also easy to walk to Lisbon’s main sights. We were there with our five-month-old. The hosts provided a cot and helped arrange transport from the airport. A wonderful experience from start to finish.
