The neighborhood has a huge mix of people, shops, and restaurants. It’s funky and might feel off-putting at first to some, but as a suburban American family who likes to travel, we felt safe even very late at night. We made lots of friends nearby and found some great food. It reminded me of a gentrifying area that might never quite get there. We spent several weeks in the place they call "Angel's Classic," on the lower floor of a beautiful 19th C mansion. The apartment was fairly large and could have held more than our family of four. It was beautiful and comfortable, with Portuguese tiles on every wall and what must be the original sink. Half the apartment is partly underground, but there was always plenty of natural light. The staff were incredibly helpful in guiding us to a place that suited us well. I’d very gladly recommend the accommodation and company.

For a low price, this is a very good apartment if you book at least a month ahead. If you’re coming in winter, though, expect it to be cold. The air con won’t go above a certain temperature. Check the bedding before going to sleep. They forgot to change ours, and it had been used by previous guests.

The balcony and rainfall shower were nice, and the apartment was a good size for two. Staff were kind, and the location worked well: nice restaurants and shopping nearby, with the city center within walking distance. One small downside was the glass bathroom door, which gave a direct view of the toilet while cooking...

Nothing out of the ordinary, just the simple, relaxing stay I was hoping for. The room was cool with working air-con, clean, and had a comfortable bed. Nice location, though be ready to walk up a hill when leaving. The staff were friendly, and I’d stay again.

We found this flat on air bnb and got it for a very good price. Antonio, our contact, was helpful, and the place had all the necessities we needed, including heating and aircon. There are supermarkets close by, and buses are within walking distance. A great place to stay while visiting lisboa.
