Lumen & The Lisbon Light Show Hotel

The service made the biggest impression on me, especially Tiago at the reception. He was warm, very polite, and professional, and made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. He was always glad to help and had a smile on his face. Lumen Hotel Lisbon is modern, clean, and comfortable, with a great location for exploring the city.

My bed felt a bit stiff, and because my room faced an office building I had to keep the shades closed. Street noise wasn’t a problem, but I could hear plenty from other rooms and the hallway. The praise this hotel gets in reviews feels overdone. It’s not a bad place, but don’t expect a five-star stay. I wouldn’t call it a no-go, though I wouldn’t try to persuade anyone to stay here either.

The rooftop bar is lovely for relaxing and taking in the views, though it’s a bit pricey. Breakfast was great, with everything you’d expect from a good buffet. The rooms are excellent, with a huge comfortable bed and an epic shower. I’d stay again.

The courtyard light show is truly enchanting, with Lisbon’s history and art projected across the walls every evening. You can come just for dinner to see it, but when you’re staying there, it becomes part of the visit in a way that’s hard to explain until you’ve seen it. What surprised me most about Lumen Hotel was how warm it felt despite being a large luxury hotel. The staff welcomed me right from the door, in a way that felt real rather than rehearsed or corporate, and that personal touch continued throughout my stay. The rooms, the concept, and the service all seemed carefully thought out for comfort. I felt at home in a luxury hotel in Lisbon. That’s a hard combination to get right, and Lumen does it. Highly recommended.
