The host was welcoming and suggested places to see in the city. Our room was clean and neat, and the house maid tidied it every day. Breakfast was simple, with toast, cheese, ham, some fruit, coffee, and orange juice. A nice place for a couple of days. We had a superior double room with a separate bathroom. It didn’t quite look like the pictures we’d been sent, and we had some trouble getting the heater to work. We were there in December, so that was chilly.

The host shared useful ideas for things to visit around the city, and breakfast was served very nicely. Our room was comfortable and very clean. We had a great stay at The Magnolia Guesthouse and would happily recommend it.

We checked into magnolia guesthouse around midday yesterday and found a bedbug when we returned to the room after dinner. Raquel responded right away when we told her, apologized, and started a refund through booking.com, which we appreciated. After that, we didn’t get much help and had to find another hotel at midnight, which was stressful. The replacement cost €177 because we booked at the last minute. When we asked Raquel to help cover some of that, she said guests “there are lots of stories of guests schemes” and accused us of bringing in the bedbug. She said the refund had already left her out of pocket, so she wouldn’t offer compensation. It was a very poor experience, and we wouldn’t recommend staying at the guesthouse in case there’s a further infestation.

Raquel was so kind and sweet, and made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout the stay. Breakfast was really good, with cheese, bread, cereal, ham, fresh milk, pressed juice, and fruit. I usually stay in hotels, but as a first-timer here, I’d definitely book Magnolia again. Recommended!
