The price for what you get is very good, and we had a peaceful stay with no noise problems. Our suite had its own very clean bathroom. The building has vintage charm, typical of Lisbon, and the city center is about a 15-minute walk away.

The rooms were okay, and we managed to communicate with Google Translate when we had trouble understanding the language. The main door is a real problem: it's very hard to open, and going in and out often becomes a pain. Rather than fix it, the owner told us to “be patient and open” it, which I really didn't like. It's an okay place if you just want to stay in until checkout.

It's affordable and well placed for getting into the center or heading in different directions. There are markets, shops, and coffee shops on the street. The balcony was tiny but useful for fresh air, and the view over the backyard showed a little of the seaside. Still, the room and shower were very small, and the old furniture smelled a bit. The thin walls let through every sound from other rooms, from sneezes and laughter to running water and toilet flushes. It was especially noisy early in the morning as people started heading out. Maybe fine for a night or two, but I wouldn't want to stay longer.

There are TVs in both the room and living area, a garden to enjoy the sunshine, and shops, bars, and restaurants nearby. You can also walk to the city. But it's an old place that needs refurbishing, with thin walls that let you hear people talking. The shared bathrooms are small, and there was mold on the walls and ceilings, which isn't good for health or hygiene.
