Orange 3 House - Chiado Studios

The apartment was manageable, but I wouldn't stay again. It was clean, and both the cleaner and Bruno, who picked us up from the airport, were very nice. The bathroom cubicle was tiny, and our room was partly below ground and damp. Nobody had told me anything about breakfast. For the price, I think I could have found better. Communication was frustrating throughout. I called the number in their email signature and was told that person didn't even work there anymore. I also sent two messages to the main email and got no response until after checkout, when an automated thank-you email came through. I couldn't reach anyone while I was there. I booked in August, then just days before travelling they told me my card hadn't been charged and asked me to wire the money to confirm. That seemed odd, but I did it and also requested airport transport both ways. Nobody told me that transport wasn't included in the amount to be wired. When we arrived, our ride was about 45 minutes late, and we were already anxious while trying to work out how to pay. I stayed from 10/20-10/25. Maybe the owners and staff weren't communicating with each other, but the lack of response was a real problem. It was fine in the end, just not somewhere I'd return to.

Joanna, Igor, and Maria are so welcoming and friendly, and they made our stay special. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. The apartments in the heart of Bairro Alto have been modernized recently and are wonderful. The neighborhood is lively at night, so it isn't the quietest, and there are lots of hills and steps. If you can manage that, you'll have an amazing stay.

A nice, simple apartment in a great spot. It was clean, looked good, and had everything we needed. The bathroom was tiny, almost like a closet. Lovely street with orange trees.

We stayed five nights in Orange 3's two-bedroom place with a private patio, and it felt magical. The apartment was cozy and especially clean, and the shower pressure was heavenly. Having our own garden terrace to sip wine before heading out to see Lisbon was lovely. Joana greeted us warmly with maps and recommendations for nearby sights in several languages, including Sintra. The setting is a big part of the appeal. Orange 3 is close to everything, including the classic BICA photo spot, but sits on a tree-lined street that felt peaceful during the day. Farther down toward BICA, there are plenty of restaurants and bars that bring the buzz. Chiado itself has the cobbled streets, cafes, restaurants, and shops that give it that classic Portugal feel. We loved the warm people, good food, and community atmosphere. Even though the neighborhood is busy, it never felt overwhelming. If you're visiting Lisbon, I'd absolutely choose Chiado.
