Planet House

Great service.

The soundproofing is practically nonexistent, and the room is bare, with nowhere to put your things, no minibar, and no kettle. Guests have to get a shared hairdryer from reception, if you can call a corridor reception. There's no elevator either. This feels more like a renovated hostel than a hotel, and some rooms even have their bathroom facilities on the landing. Terrible value for money. Don't trust the photos.

We booked a double room for November 15-19, 2019, but check-in came with five unpleasant surprises. First, we had to pay an unexpected 16 euro fee, about 76 reais at the current exchange rate, which wasn't in our budget because it hadn't been mentioned in the booking. The room wasn't a double either. We were put in a twin room with bunk beds, and the bathroom was outside the room, also something the reservation hadn't said. The shower was awful to regulate. It swung between too hot and too cold, and even on hot it quickly turned cold, so we had to wait a few minutes for it to heat up again. The bathroom cleaning also left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The booking mix-up got sorted out, but it was still frustrating to arrive expecting a double bed and be sent to a room with single bunk beds. There's also no elevator, which made carrying several bags up to the fourth floor really difficult.
