PortoBay Marques

The team remembered us from our last visit, and it was lovely to catch up after the two years since we'd last been at Porto Bay Marques. We came back in January for a second stay, after enjoying it in January 2024, and paired Lisbon with a few days in Nazare' to see big wave surfing. Before arriving, we emailed the concierge and arranged a Superior room upgrade. They handled it quickly. We also reached Lisbon before heading to Nazare, and the staff kindly stored a suitcase for the three days we were away. At check-in we got another upgrade, this time to a suite. The extra space came in handy when we were tired and wanted to eat comfort food in the room instead of going out for a late dinner. The location, cleanliness, competitive price and efficient front-of-house team make it hard to find a better place for a few days or longer in Lisbon. A lovely hotel, conveniently close to transport. They were very helpful with booking a tour and offering suggestions. Sitting at the sidewalk tables was really relaxing.

We'd stay here again on our next visit. Breakfast had a good range, and items were replenished quickly. The room was clean, with a roomy bathroom, and the beds were very comfortable. Staff were friendly, and the location made getting around easy. We took a bus to Belem in about 30 minutes and got off right beside the monastery. A couple of things could be better: there was no charging socket by the bed, and the TV didn't have YouTube. The room itself was spacious.

Quiet spot in a good location, with nice rooms and a good breakfast. The pool is very small. There's a sauna and steam room, plus a limited workout area.
