Real Residencia - Touristic Apartments

The beds were easily the worst I've come across in 50 years of travel, and the rooms are noisy. The building has clearly had better days. A couple of staff members were really nice, but the others were surprisingly unfriendly, and the place has an odd atmosphere, though nothing awful. Families seem to make up a lot of the guests, probably because the rates are affordable and the rooms have kitchens. Those kitchens are very sparsely equipped, and the place isn't especially child-friendly either. For example, the buffet is set on a counter 1.50 meters high. Breakfast is okay, though.

We found the rooms clean and the breakfast very good. The location works well for families with kids, though at night you can hear noise from other apartments and planes. For what we paid, the stay was okay.

The lounge is cozy, with lots of TV options, and the bedroom is comfortable too. The bed is great and could fit four people. Rooms look just like the photos, and the staff are nice. There's also a small kitchen, enough to make breakfast, lunch, or dinner for two.

Planes pass over the hotel every few minutes, so you'll have to get used to the noise. The living room couch is unbelievably hard and isn't even suitable for sleeping. The furniture feels like it came from my grandmother's time, yet they call this a four-star hotel. Who gave it four stars? I'd say it's two, at most. Our room access card broke, and they still hadn't fixed the problem after a day. After a day of frustration, they moved us to another room, but we had to yell before anyone would take action. Breakfast was frustrating too: you had to ask for scrambled or fried eggs, sausages, or ham, and could only get one portion. We asked for three portions of tomatoes and got just one. I've traveled all over Europe, but I've never encountered such rude behavior as we did in Portugal. The place is rated 7.5 overall, yet it's still four stars short.
