São Bento Lux by LU Holidays

Tiago was the highlight for us. He was easy to reach, helped us find our way around the city, and shared some great suggestions. We spent four nights here and really enjoyed the friendly guesthouse atmosphere, including chatting with the other travellers. There was food and coffee available in the house, which we appreciated. The neighbourhood was peaceful, with the popular areas about a 20-minute walk away. We tried two rooms. One had a faulty door lock, and neither TV worked, so those could use fixing. Even with those little issues, we had a lovely stay and would recommend the place.

The host was kind and really helpful, and getting around was easy with lots of transport nearby. It's a quiet area, though Bairro Alto is about a 10-minute walk if you want nightlife. The old building has its own charm. Our room had plenty of space, a comfortable bed, and a lovely balcony for sitting outside. There's also a beautiful kitchen for cooking, eating, or having morning coffee. I'd definitely recommend it.

The room was nice, the price was fair, and the location was decent. But it wasn't quiet, so I needed earplugs. Getting in felt confusing, with dark hallways and doors often left unlatched, which made me unsure about security. My main concern was the service. Staff didn't respond to most of my messages, and weeks later I'm still waiting for an invoice I requested. With that little responsiveness, I'd worry if a problem came up. I can't recommend it.

Pedro is such a kind host, and the location is really good. Our room was comfortable and had its own bathroom, with more rooms available too, which worked well for a very large group like ours. There's a kitchen where you can cook or have breakfast, plus a freezer section for sharing food made by the property.
