Sonho de Lisboa B&B

I booked four nights at this B&B three months ahead and paid just under £300 in full. Ten days before my arrival, the owner called to say he had to cancel because of an operation. He said he’d arranged another place for me, and I felt sorry for him, so I agreed at first. But he gave me almost no details, not even the other landlord’s name. When no further information arrived after 24 hours, I decided I’d rather stay elsewhere and asked him to cancel and refund me. He refused and replied aggressively, saying, “you either stick to our agreement or there will not be any refund.” I hadn’t been told the booking was non-changeable or non-refundable, and the owner was the one cancelling it. I’m still trying to get my money back, but he’s stopped answering my messages. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend giving this B&B your business.
