Studio Calvario

The studio was clean and well equipped, and the renovation was nicely done, but the practical problems were serious. First, we had a delay getting the key. At the building, there was only one doorbell marked with the building's name. If you couldn't use it, called the wrong number, or had no coins for the payphone in the plaza across the street, you were stuck outside. No one answered the other bells. When the building manager eventually showed up, we learned he'd been summoned through an app and had no authority to make decisions or contact with the building manager. The entrance sign was just a loose board taped to the wall, with no phone number or email for emergencies. Our street key didn't work properly and wasn't replaced during our stay. A neighbor's shower took three days to get fixed, and the studio lost power for about six hours before anyone came to repair it. The repair person must have come at night, since we'd fallen asleep and the power was back by early morning.
