Succeed Terreiro do Paço Suites

The location was amazing and the staff were really nice, and our room was very clean. Just be aware the hotel is in a dense, touristy area: there are cafés and restaurants across the street and a bar behind it. On Friday and Saturday nights I woke up to drunk people screaming. Apart from that, it was great staying here.

I liked the beautiful interior, the comfortable, clean, well-sized rooms and having a full kitchen. The location is very good, within walking distance or public transit of all the attractions, and the price is good for the area. A few things were lacking, though: room service never refilled the soap or changed our towels. You also had to buzz reception every time you wanted to enter, and often the buzzer didn't work, so you'd end up yelling through the window. I still recommend it for the value.

The kitchen is pleasant to have, even though there's not much in it. The room my husband and I got was so cramped that it seemed meant for one person with a smaller bed. We could barely move around it without tripping over each other, and there was hardly any space in the bathroom either. No room amenities beyond shower soap. The stairs are steep and there's no elevator. That's common in Lisbon, but at this same price you can find a place with larger rooms and an elevator. They claim the rooms are soundproof, but we heard everything in the hallway. It was quiet from outside, though. The cleaning lady also walked in on us, but no big deal. I've visited Lisbon several times and thought I'd treat myself this time, but paid five times what I usually do for the same thing. What a mistake. Save your money and book elsewhere.

Getting to the main places is easy from this location, which is great and very accessible. Room 201 can be especially noisy: you hear sounds outside and inside, from people on the stairs to anyone going into the kitchen. Some guests even partied in the kitchen late into the night, so we had a hard time sleeping. The cleaning service was messy too. They left supplies around the room and forgot our towels, so we had to ask for them.
