One of the staff members really helped us out when we needed to add another night. They even moved our things while we were out, though I can’t remember his name now. We stayed in summer, and the place covered our basic needs. The city center is a bit of a trek, but I think the metro was about a five-minute walk away.

The beds were comfy and there was a nice social feel, which made this a good choice for travelling solo. Delight Hostel was clean, the staff were friendly, and it’s handy for getting around Lisbon. Good value too, I’d happily recommend it.

We had a double room with its own bathroom and it was perfectly fine. The location was great, and the food was good value. It’s not a fancy place, but for what it costs, that seems fair.

The room was cold, and there was mold in the shower. Noise carried through the hostel, and the windows didn’t seal properly.

2/10
The state of the room shocked us as soon as we arrived. The towels had a stain that looked like faeces, and there was hair on the hairdryer, tap, and shower wall. Thick mold covered the bottom of the shower. The water came out in a trickle and stayed freezing, or only lukewarm at best. There was also a putrid smell outside the hostel and in the hallway. Nothing about this place felt delightful. I’d give it zero stars if I could, and I’m never coming back.
