The Emerald House Lisbon, Curio Collection By Hilton Hotel

Emerald hotel did a lovely job with breakfast, which matters a lot to me since it’s my favorite meal. I’ll miss the fruit, cheese, eggs, and bread. The gym was clean and a welcome extra, even if walking around Lisbon is a workout in itself. The hotel is stunning, full of Portuguese art, and the service and attention to detail were excellent. The soft pillows and beds felt like clouds. It seemed a bit far from restaurants and the community, though I was there during the city’s worst rains in 20+ years. The restaurant menu doesn’t change, but the fish was great, and Joau (sp?) gave great service. Skip the room service pizza unless you’re starving.

We spent two nights here in March 2026 and had a great experience. The hotel was clean, and the staff were excellent. The woman at the front desk was especially attentive and kind. They upgraded us to a suite, maybe because I booked through Amex, and left fruit and dessert to congratulate us on our honeymoon. Such a sweet gesture. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the main part of the city, so if that distance is fine with you, it’s a perfect hotel.

The creative decor makes this place feel almost like a boutique hotel, with a style all its own. It’s peaceful, and we enjoyed strolling around the area between Belem and Chiado. The rooms were clean and neat, and lunch at the hotel restaurant was great. Both the hamburger and codfish were tasty. It’s outside the very center, but well worth it. An Uber takes about five minutes and costs around €5 per ride. We had a really good stay and would recommend it.

As a Diamond member and hotel inspector in USA, I thought this hotel was fantastic. The room was clean and had no maintenance issues, though it was a little small, which is to be expected in Europe. It’s a bit away from the action, but public transportation is close and can take you anywhere. The service was on point, especially at the bar. Sammy was the sweetest, and it was fun watching her make cocktails. Shah, Bia, and Jacira (I hope I spelled her name correctly) took great care of us, and Sofia at the front desk was wonderful too. I’d absolutely stay again and hope you do too!
