TURIM Luxe Hotel

Bruna, if I'm remembering correctly, was especially helpful from the central reservations office. On our check-in morning, she stayed on the phone with us for at least 30 minutes to help sort out a problem. Her support was outstanding, and the service in general was very good. The hotel was conveniently placed, with bus stops and a metro nearby, and only a few bus stops from the main square. Our room for two was very cramped, though. The bed took up nearly all the space, and at over 100 euros a night in October without breakfast, I expected more room. We tried breakfast once for 10 euros each. It was okay, with boiled eggs, two cheeses, one ham, fruit, yogurt, pastries and coffee, but omelets and other egg options cost extra. We ate out on the other mornings. The stay was good overall, but felt overpriced. For 100 euros less, I would've been completely happy.

A simple, clean place to sleep in a central location, with great desk service. The rooms are small, so it suits a basic overnight stay. Parking takes some planning. There's none at the hotel, so you'll need a garage or a metered street space during the day. We found a spot about one and a half blocks away.

The staff were helpful, and they checked us in quickly even after a big tour group arrived. The location is about a 10-minute Uber ride from the center. Beyond that, our stay was disappointing. We were asked for a refundable 50 euro deposit in case we used anything from the minibar, which seemed odd. We got room 101, on the first floor beside the elevator. It looked okay at first, but the walls were stained and peeling. There were blood spots on the pillowcases; reception changed them promptly when we asked. We also found a small bug in the shower two nights in a row. The elevator music somehow played in our room, and I don't understand why that needs to be a thing. Wi-Fi barely worked. We had to go to reception twice before it barely worked in the room. Thanks to the staff member who helped, we know it wasn't your fault. The shower was tiny, and water got out no matter how carefully we used it. The towels smelled strange, so we used our own and used the hotel towels to mop up the water. The area around the hotel wasn't nice either. Luckily, our itinerary kept us out most of the time. The room felt like an old space with a modern-looking bed and frame dropped into it.

Okay for one night, but the room price doesn't match what you get. The rooms are tiny, like Japanese room sizes, without the fancy toilets. They make you leave a minibar deposit, then it takes days after checkout to get the money back. That old-fashioned minibar should go.
