Adore Portugal Bungalow

The kids loved arriving to a clean, comfortable place with the fireplace already lit. In the morning, breakfast was far better than we expected. We also enjoyed waking up to the sounds of farm animals, which was a completely new experience for us. The owner was always available and gave us tips on things to do around Lousã and where to try good chanfana. We loved our stay, would recommend it to a family, and will definitely come back.

The pool was fairly large and clean, but the outdoor area was poorly maintained. The owner disturbed us several times and even came in without warning, despite our having rented the whole house. The dishes were badly washed, so we had to rewash everything we used. Rooms were dusty and full of cobwebs, and personal belongings were left under the bed and the pool table. Authorities came to the property after a complaint about underfed animals. The animals did look visibly underfed and went without food for several hours, since the grazing area had already been used up. They only got food later in the day.

Set apart within the property, the bungalow felt like a place with no Covid risk. The kitchen has a wide range of equipment, though there’s no stove. It has both a fan and air conditioning, and sits right in nature with a good view of the mountains. Check-in was pleasant and thoughtful, without any fuss.

A great place to unwind in nature and head out exploring. The nearby river beach is lovely, even with a great pool right there. Serra da Lousã feels like a living picture to discover. Really good.
