We had such a good evening here, sharing a pasta dinner cooked by the host and having great conversations with the host and other pilgrims. After a long day walking the Portuguese Camino, we first cooled off in the natural waterfalls outside, then enjoyed how peaceful it was to spend a night outside town. The host also suggested we head straight for the coast the next day instead of continuing inland toward Porto. Best decision ever. We highly recommend staying here. Thank you Nikolaus.

Those waterfalls are a lovely extra, a chance to cool off and connect with nature. García Watermill was an incredible experience, and the surroundings are truly epic. It's easily the best place to unwind and calm down during these scorching hot days.

The dinner he offers for €6 is tasty and there's probably more than you can eat. This may be the best albergue I've stayed in, and it's beautiful too. Bring friends, stay an extra day, and swim in the stream by the waterfall. Definitely worth the extra kilometre.

The extra walk off the Camino is well worth it. The property feels like a hidden oasis, with a stream, waterfalls, and plenty of nice places to lounge. The owner was a great host, keen to make sure we enjoyed our stay, and dinner was served family-style.
