It’s just golf here, no hotel. There’s a small golf reception and a handful of shop items, but the place is much calmer. It’s probably about 40 minutes from Aroeira, where I usually play at the PGA course, and I really liked the change. The course is beautiful to me, flat, and easy to walk. There was hardly any traffic, just a few local golfers. I tried it out because we’re hoping to play here as a group via Golfamore in Oktober. The front nine was fairly easy, with wide fairways, and I shot 41. The back nine felt longer both to walk and to play, and I shot 47. It’s not the usual golf setup with a big clubhouse or restaurant. For me, it made for a surprisingly peaceful afternoon, an easy round, and a nice time playing. I’d rate it 7,5 out of 10. I paid 54€ with a Golfamore card.

A relaxed day of golf in the Palmela countryside, with a peaceful setting and a course that’s laid out nicely. The fairways flow well, the staff are welcoming, and the resort has a comfortable feel. Worth the short trip from Lisbon.

Just wrapped up a tournament at Montado. The event was run really well, and the other players were great. The course was a real challenge. Definitely one golfers should play!

The friendly staff in the food and beverage outlets were a bright spot, and the front desk staff were kind too, but they couldn’t sort out any of our problems. We even offered to pay more for an upgraded room. They said nothing was available, although there was availability online. This ended up being one of my worst stays, and I think the nearby, cheaper Ibis would have been a better experience. The pool photos on the hotel website didn’t match what we found at all. I was shocked to learn that one of the Google photos wasn’t even of the hotel’s pool. The facilities seemed neglected and poorly maintained for years. Check-in information said the spa was available, but it was under maintenance during our visit and unusable. The internet in my room didn’t work, and there was no phone signal, so communication and work were nearly impossible. The toilet had visible humidity marks, and the front desk made no effort to move us to a cleaner room. Some switches didn’t work either. Boxes and mattresses piled outside added to the messy feel, and the shower water kept swinging between hot and cold.
