For the price, this is a really nice place: cheap, quiet, with private parking, friendly staff, and everything working. No luxury, but if you travel a lot, you'll appreciate it.

If you need somewhere around Penafiel and want to spend under 50, this is a good choice. Prices run between 45 and 35, depending on the season. The hotel is well priced and right in the centre of Penafiel. My room was clean and presentable, and the reception staff were lovely, congratulations to them. Breakfast was generous, along the lines of a continental breakfast and as good as what I've had at other hotels. The only small issue was that the ventilation made some noise on very windy days. Closing the bathroom door fixed it.

We loved our stay and would only miss it next time if there were no rooms available at Penahotel. It's a hotel with a lot of character, in a great spot for walking around the historic centre and reaching all kinds of lovely shops and designer boutiques. The price was excellent, and breakfast was good, served in a spacious room with wonderful natural light. The hotel was very clean. Our room was comfortable, tidy and had excellent views. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They welcomed us with good manners and a sense of humour, and did everything they could to make us comfortable. An excellent experience!
