The owners have turned ruins into a beautiful retreat, and you can see how much care they put into every detail. Tucked into the heart of nature, it has a distinctive mix of rustic charm and natural beauty that feels peaceful and authentic. The river and little waterfall add to that calm atmosphere. We stayed in the Mill House, where my daughter loved the cosy upstairs bed, and the fireplace made the stay feel warm and magical. Breakfast really was divine, just as other reviews said. I'd come back just for the chocolate cake. Highly recommend it for a quiet break in nature.

A lovely choice for anyone who enjoys nature. The old little village has been restored beside a water mill, surrounded by beautiful scenery. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is outstanding, and I highly recommend it.

The setting is wonderfully quiet, surrounded by nature, with a swimming pool and a nearby stream where you can swim or take a canoe. Our spacious room was clean and well maintained, with a small fridge and kitchen utensils, which was handy for preparing something or eating in. The A/C worked well, and breakfast offered a decent variety. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A couple of practical things could be better: internet only reaches the main house and breakfast room, and daily upkeep would help, for example topping up toilet paper or changing towels. Insect screens on windows or doors would also be useful so you could leave them open without letting bugs in. There can be lots of insects here, including mosquitoes. We visited in early summer, and the mosquitoes made it hard to sit outside in the evenings. That's understandable given the natural setting and stream, but bring repellent if you want to enjoy being outdoors. It's a relaxing place, though getting a good meal can be tricky, especially on Mondays when restaurants may be closed. You'll need to drive, since no village or restaurant is within walking distance.

We found this place at the last minute at the end of June 2019 and were delighted, it felt like a Shangri-la. Our little room had a bedroom and bathroom, plus its own outdoor sitting area with a hammock. I fell asleep listening to frogs calling by the river. Breakfast in the cabana is a self-serve buffet with lots of homemade choices, including yoghurt, bread and delicious berries. It felt healthy but still indulgent. The pool is lovely, and there are thoughtful touches everywhere: candles on the steps at night, canoes, day beds and hammocks by the river, and a small bottle of homemade liqueur in the room. The owners are a lovely couple, and it's a wonderful hideaway. There aren't facilities for self-catering, though the local town is quite a distance away. It would be useful to have an outdoor kitchen guests could use. Highly recommended.
