Offshore Rustic House

The owner was quick to come by when anything came up, and with the room's price in mind, I'd give the place four stars. We were also allowed to wheel our bikes through the house and leave them securely parked out back. Our double room had a comfortable bed, though it was on the small side. There was no air conditioning, so we kept the windows open. Since Room 1 faces the street, traffic could be heard until midnight and again from 6am, but we still managed to sleep. The house has two shared bathrooms; both worked, though the upstairs shower head was set very high. The cleaning was the biggest disappointment. Things looked fine at first, but there was a lot of dust under moved furniture, and the floor felt gritty enough that we wore shoes indoors. Food left by other guests hadn't been fully cleaned up overnight, and we found lots of ants on the countertop. The cleaning staff need to be more thorough. It's a rustic old house with old furniture that could use some care. A few things were broken and some areas needed a fresh coat of paint. The kitchen had most of what we needed, but no full oven. Laundry cost 5€ for stays under three nights, and we were supposed to contact the owner before using the machine, though the wall sign didn't mention that.
