Quinta da Pitarrela

We spent a week here in July with three families, and it suited us perfectly. Every room has its own bathroom, and there are spacious shared areas. The kitchen is fully equipped with far more than you’d usually find in a holiday apartment. You can tell it was designed for people to live in, not just for tourists to rent. Absolutely stunning. I’d return in a heartbeat.

We were here for two nights in May and loved how beautiful it was. The views were amazing, the pools were great, and fresh bread arrived daily. The hosts communicated really well. I’d love to come back :)

We spent a lot of time relaxing on the patio with a book and a glass of wine, taking in the vineyard scenery. The small pool was refreshing too. We stayed in Casa Rosa, where our private rooms were comfortable and very clean, with modern bathrooms. A short walk up the road, we had our own private kitchen with a bathroom, stocked with meat, cheese, milk, coffee, and juice. Each morning, fresh bread was delivered to our door, such a treat. The views at Quinta da Pitarrela were amazing, with vineyards all around. Our hosts Sonia and Tiago were friendly and helpful, and suggested several outings we enjoyed. One was the Museu do Douro, a history and art museum where our visit ended with a sample of port wine. They also arranged a taxi to Pinhão for a boat tour on the Douro River, which was spectacular. We can’t wait to return and would recommend this beautiful Quinta to everyone.

I can’t think of a better stay. It’s a beautiful, spacious house with wonderful views of the wineries. The host was professional, and every room was well equipped, spotless, and well maintained. The pool and lounge area were lovely, and the bed and shower were really comfortable. Fresh bread was brought to our door each morning too.
