Susanna's house is roomy and comfortable, and I felt right at home there. It’s in a charming village, away from the busy main roads but still easy to reach. Susanna makes guests feel welcome and, even with a lot going on, she always finds time for them. We were greeted with a little packet of typical Portuguese biscuits, which we thoroughly enjoyed. When I admired the lemon tree, she offered to let me pick some fruit. It’s an address I’ll remember and recommend without hesitation. If you’re nearby, stop in; you won’t be disappointed. We were lucky to see a demonstration of the traditional Coimbra art of painting on white porcelain, which Susanna continues with her sister and mother at Artisanat Lopes. Their pieces were exquisite, and we brought home a lovely souvenir that wasn’t made in China.
