We had a private terrace at the back of our room, which was a real treat. The shower was good and strong, and the buffet breakfast had lots of choice with some items changing each day. Coffee and tea were available at reception. The team were helpful about arranging breakfast boxes for our whale-watching trips and trying to find us a dinner table. Their recommendations were great, though you need to book ahead if there’s a particular restaurant you want to try. It’s a well-converted 19th-century house near the city center, part of a group of three small hotels. There’s a lift, but the step up from the street makes access difficult for wheelchair users. There’s no parking, and the narrow street gets blocked when people are dropped off or picked up. Churches, museums, the port, the famous triple gateway, and more restaurants than you could need on holiday are all within easy walking distance.

My boyfriend and I loved our stay in this gorgeous, stately home in the heart of Ponta Delgada. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a nice balcony overlooking the patio, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good, with lots of choices that changed from day to day. A lovely, charming place to stay.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, and there’s tea and coffee at reception whenever you want it. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of different options. We had to leave very early one morning, so they packed us a box of food, which we really appreciated. A great place to stay in a great location.

The location is right in the city center, with shops, bars, and restaurants close at hand. My boyfriend and I had a fantastic stay, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They helped us rent a car and prepared a take-away breakfast for our early morning return flight. We were also upgraded to a suite, which was a really pleasant room.

Gabriella is one of the best hosts we’ve ever met, and the building, room, service, and breakfast were all top-notch. Our room was incredibly spacious, especially for the older part of town. Our friends stayed at a larger nearby hotel with free parking, but their experience wasn’t nearly as good. I was initially worried about parking, and we ended up not renting a car. There are places to park nearby, though. Any hassle with parking would be well worth the experience of staying in this charming place. If you can get a room here, don’t think twice.
