Grand Hotel Açores Atlântico

The staff were so helpful and friendly, and they’d even check in during the afternoon to see if we needed anything. When I misplaced my phone in the car, everyone helped me look for it, and they were great with recommendations too. I celebrated my birthday there, and came back to find a bottle of wine and a cake waiting for me. My husband thanked them, and they said they wanted me to feel special. The rooms were really clean, and breakfast was fresh, delicious, and had just about anything you could imagine. You’d have to try hard to leave hungry. I can’t say enough good things about this place, and I’m telling everyone to stay here. When we return to the Azores, we’re definitely coming back.

The staff really made our stay. Everyone across the different departments was amazing. We also enjoyed the in-house restaurant and bar, and our room was lovely and well furnished, with an ensuite toilet and shower. We spent eight nights at this traditional five-star hotel, which is perfectly placed for the marina, town and restaurants.

I was disappointed by the gym, which has only a few treadmills and some free weights, and the reception service was the one real low point. I arrived around 1 p.m. on Sunday, 28 Sep, and the receptionists seemed more interested in talking to each other than helping, especially Tatiana. The heated indoor pool was very nice, and breakfast was good, though nothing special. The hotel is an easy 5-10 minute walk from central Ponta Delgada. I found the room excellent, especially the comfortable mattress and pillows.

We had a beautiful ocean view from the hotel, and the amenities included a pool, a gym, a full-service restaurant and a bar that also served food. My room was spotless, with plenty of towels and toiletries. The food was excellent, and everyone I met, from the valet and front desk to the restaurant servers, was friendly and professional. I stayed just one night at Grand Hotel Acores Atlantico and was impressed throughout. I’d happily return and recommend it.
