Paulo made this hostel stay such a happy experience. He went well beyond what you’d expect, both in the help he gave and in his lovely personality. Anita was sweet and quick to help with anything I needed too. I’d absolutely recommend staying here. Thanks, Paulo, for making it so memorable!

If you have allergies or sensitive skin, be careful about booking here. The accommodation is very basic. This was my first time trying to find a place in ponta Delgada, and after seeing more of the island, I found there are many much better options. For anyone renting as I did, I wish you the best on your trip.

Paulo went out of his way to make us comfortable. He helped us find a car rental and arrange extra nights for less than we would otherwise have paid, and gave us great ideas for independent day trips around the island. The hostel was spotless and quiet, with modern features like card-scan lockers and nothing in need of repair. You can walk to pretty much anything in Ponta Delgado. I highly recommend both the place and Paulo as a host.

Paulo is what made the stay for me. He’s so thoughtful and kind, and helped with everything from a last-minute extension to camping gear, flight schedule assistance, and local tips. He really wants guests to feel comfortable and get the most from their time there, and puts his whole heart into it. Passal Hostel feels personal and welcoming, and I made friends right away. The whole crew was lovely and open. The hostel is quiet and modern, and the bunk beds were comfortable. I especially liked having curtains for a bit of privacy in the dorm. Bedrooms, bathrooms, and the breakfast room were clean and contemporary. The farmer's market and beautiful town center Plaza are an easy walk away, and even the airport is about a 45-minute walk. Honestly, it’s the best, and I’d recommend staying here whenever you’re in Ponta Delgada. I already miss it!

If you have allergies or sensitive skin, I’d be wary of staying here. The accommodation is bare minimum, though it’s cheaper than better places I found after looking around the island. I was also deeply disappointed by how Paulo handled the “policies.” I had paid in full, but they kept all my money and said I wasn’t entitled to it under their policies. It was an upsetting first booking experience in Sao Miguel. Some people may enjoy the other parts of the hostel, but buyer beware.
