The Farm - Azores Boutique House

The restaurant on site is worth a visit, especially the chocolate mousse. The hotel has just 16 rooms, so it never felt crowded, and the seasonal pool area is beautiful and peaceful. There’s also a little banana plantation with bunnies and chickens. Though it sits on a semi-busy side street, you don’t hear or feel the noise once you’re through the front door. The service, decor, and amenities felt like what you’d usually get at a hotel three times the price. The staff went out of their way to tailor our stay. A gentleman at the front desk even set up an easy hike about 20 minutes away, printed a trail map, and arranged a taxi both ways. I’m not an experienced hiker and had found it really difficult to find trails on my own that were easy and open that time of year. Best hotel in Ponta Delgada. Trust me, you will LOVE this hotel!

The buffet breakfast was amazing, and the inside was beautiful and really clean. Staff were attentive and helped us with everything, from calling a taxi and sharing great recommendations to bringing ice right to our room. Worth every penny we spent here!

Breakfast was a highlight each day, with fresh passionfruit, baked goods, and more. The Farm was a lovely place to stay, with welcoming, friendly staff and most of Ponta Delgada within easy walking distance. There's a free parking lot down the street. Can't wait to come back!

Musa is a standout, with incredible flavors and great service, and breakfast was excellent too. The rest of this review is about what felt like disingenuous business practices from management. A hurricane in the Azores delayed us by a whole day, so we hoped the hotel might waive the charge for the unused night. They didn't plainly say the booking was nonrefundable, including in the case of a natural disaster. Instead, they said they'd refund us if we called Expedia for “permission” to change the reservation, and charged our card for the extra night, saying it was “just to create an invoice” so they could process the refund. After several calls with Expedia and the hotel, it became clear they never intended to refund us. They even denied that those conversations had happened. It caused stress and cost us precious vacation time. Kindness is best, but honesty is the next best policy. Management showed neither. Keep this in mind if transparency matters to you or, like us, you have bad luck with the weather.
