Apartment Boavista Roundabout by SweetPorto

The apartments were clean and had all the amenities ready to use, and the service was really great. One bathroom had a strange smell, but management responded quickly and worked with us to sort it out. I only wish there were elevators from the ground floor, which would have helped with the kids, though the listing already mentions that there aren’t any. The main attractions are walkable, with a hop-on hop-off service right outside and the metro about a five-minute walk away. Nice stay overall. We’d come again.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this really upset me. We booked and prepaid for three nights in 2020, then couldn’t travel because of the pandemic. They replied quickly and gave us a voucher for a future stay. It expired in 2021, when major travel restrictions were still in place in Canada and we couldn’t rebook. I recently contacted them to ask if they’d make an exception, but they said they couldn’t accept expired vouchers. I believe they could if they wanted to. In the end, they kept our money and gave nothing in return. I support small businesses, but I’ll make sure my friends and family don’t book here when visiting Porto.

It was easy to get around from this nice apartment. We could walk through the city and down to the port, or hop on public transport, an Uber, or a taxi.

The room was really clean, and the kitchen came fully equipped. That was especially handy on Christmas Day, when all the restaurants were closed. We really enjoyed our stay.
