Canvas Atelier Hostel

It’s a very clean hostel with a great kitchen that has everything you need to cook. It’s fairly quiet at night and close to Aman Catarina street. I’d recommend Canvas hostel, although it’s a bit expensive for a hostel. There are only curtains and plugs for the lower bunks, so the upper beds need both too. The bathroom is shared with more than one room, and people from other rooms come in to shower. The bathtub and toilet are in the same room. It might work better to put in two showers instead of a bathtub, with a partition between the showers and toilet.

The hostel was spotless, the staff were helpful and nice, and the location was great. One small hassle: you have to pay reception in cash when you arrive for your stay. Still, it’s a great place and I’d absolutely stay again.

The staff were welcoming, and the location was awesome. The beds were comfortable, though only the lower bunks had curtains, and there was no outlet near the top bunk. Getting ready was tough with one bathroom shared by 10 people across two rooms. One night, the bedroom locks were so confusing that we got locked out for a while. It was hot enough that we had to leave the windows open, which let bugs in, thankfully none that bit. They advertised a fun bar crawl too. It’s not the most modern hostel, but the price makes it worthwhile.

There were too many beds in the room, the upper bunks had no privacy, and the anti-mould chemicals smelled strong. Aside from that, it’s a nice, clean house with a cozy shared area and friendly staff.
