The hosts were friendly and quick to respond, and the place itself was clean, comfortable, and quite nice. It's about a 15 minute walk to the river. But we should've listened to the other reviews: this is on Porto's main party street, and the whole one-block stretch is noisy. Music and loud singing went on until at least 4am. Even the fridge was pretty loud.

Inside was clean and pleasant, with a good kitchen stocked with the utensils you need. The bed was comfortable too, and most attractions are nearby. The problem is all the noise outside: there's a strip club and bars close by, and drunk people were out there screaming, fighting, shouting, chanting and throwing bottles until 7 in the morning. Loud music carried on late as well. It was really hard to sleep.

This flat looks central and has a nice appearance, even if there's a lot of IKEA stuff. But it presents itself as an elegant place to relax, and that wasn't our experience at all. The bass from clubs in the same building was so loud the beds vibrated, and I couldn't sleep. I missed a trip the next day because I couldn't hear my alarm through the earplugs the hotel provides. I understand now why they're there. The noise went on until 6am, then the cleaning staff and machines started up. In Germany this would be forbidden. There's also a bright green emergency exit light right over the bed, which lights up the room all night. The fridge is right next to where you sleep, and its compressor was so noisy I had to turn it off, leaving us without cold food or drinks. The wooden part behind the bed was nearly falling apart and some hooks were already broken. When the people in the neighboring room cooked, their fan was very loud. I first thought I'd somehow switched on the kitchen fan myself. When we arrived, the agent seemed eager to leave as soon as possible. For the same price, try "RVA clerigos appartements". It's beautiful, quiet, in the city center, and has very nice staff, who aren't an agency.

The room and kitchen were beautiful and well equipped, the bed and pillows were really comfortable, and there was a lovely rooftop. It's central, and the customer service hotline was responsive. They even arranged a taxi for me. The weekend nights outside were extremely loud since the building is on the main party street. We could manage with earplugs, but the street cleaning in the mornings was really noisy. There was no cleaning service for four days and not enough supplies. A few teabags, napkins, and coffee would've been nice. The emergency light left a green glow in the room all night and affected our sleep. The doors also open through a website link, which isn't very practical. On arrival I was asked for a 100 euro deposit, either in cash, by transfer, or by putting a hold on a credit card. I've never had that happen at any kind of accommodation anywhere in the world. They could've told me in advance so I could've given them the card details of the other guests joining me. I asked the woman to wait for them to arrive so I could provide their card information, but felt pushed to make a transfer right there. It was simply awkward.
