Liiiving in Porto - Oasis Retreat Apartment

It was great to have an outdoor patio, and the condo was well stocked. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, though, and the mattress needs replacing. The Metro is close by.

The rooms were amazing, spacious, and modern, and the service was brilliant. We loved the atmosphere and the fabulous location. The apartment included a free wine tasting at Churchill, which was amazing, and the view from there was too. From nearby, a taxi can take you to the shopping district, where you’ll find the big department store el corte de ingles. Breakfast was the one letdown. The fresh pastries arrived cold and squashed. As a family, we couldn’t finish all the milk and juice, so a lot went to waste. It might help to have a sheet where guests can choose which items they want and how much.

The location, cleanliness, and equipment were all perfect. One thing to watch out for: Google Maps shows the address badly wrong. The correct address is “Rua de Santa Catarina, 512, Porto”. The staff at Sweet Porto Apartment were so friendly and spoke English fluently. Their Fado recommendation was really impressive, and the winery tour they suggested at Churchill’s was fantastic. It was even free because we stayed at Sweet Porto. If I could, I’d give it six stars.

Very clean and comfortable, and fairly quiet given how busy the area is. But the apartment had only the bare basics, which fell short of what I expect from a rental. There was just one roll of toilet paper and no way to make coffee, plus no salt, pepper, or tea.
