Olive Nature – Tourism Apartments

Gondalise at the front desk was excellent, helpful, and professional. Despite that, several problems made the stay fall short of expectations. We weren’t given the room we’d booked. The first two options were dark and didn’t match what we expected, and the final room was only acceptable. The booking process was inconvenient. The property’s GPS location was also off, which made Uber pickups and drop-offs frustrating. The sound insulation was poor, and our floor squeaked loudly. People downstairs responded by banging on the ceiling and shouting, which made us uncomfortable. There were maintenance problems too: some bulbs needed replacing, and the bathroom basin wasn’t waterproof and probably needs replacing. Better upkeep, soundproofing, and accuracy with bookings would make a big difference.

The receptionist was great and gave us useful recommendations for tourist spots, though staff aren’t always at the check-in desk, so it’s a good idea to email your arrival time. The location works well for travelers. Our room on the second floor was spacious and had all the amenities, including an electric stove, microwave, air conditioner, and hot water. There was also a small bottle of wine as a welcome drink. Reception is on the ground floor, and the building’s elevator serves up to the third floor.

The room had plenty of space, was comfortable and clean, and came with both dishes and kitchenware. The staff were friendly, and Leonardo was especially kind. On check-in, they showed me around Porto on a map. The apartment was easy to find on Google Maps and not far to walk from the station. The location was great, and it made my trip comfortable and pleasant. A few drawbacks: bottled water and a coffee capsule were complimentary only once at check-in, and the coffee machine was so dirty I couldn’t use it. The TV felt small for the size of the room. There was some noise from nearby nightclubs from Friday night into Saturday morning. When I asked, staff said Porto is noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, and that the clubs are legally allowed to operate, so there was nothing they could do.
