The welcome was lovely even before we got there. When she heard we'd be flying in, she sent directions for reaching the city center and the apartment, then showed us around after we arrived. She also brought us a bottle of typical Portuguese red wine and was happy to answer our questions about the city and point us to some excellent spots for traditional food. Having an actual person to greet us felt like a real pleasure in a time when online rentals often rely on automatic locks. We stayed two nights in early June. The apartment isn't new, but it was clean and tidy, with an excellent location and that art deco, decadent charm that fits this beautiful city. It's up on the third floor, with no elevator. We didn't mind the climb, though it could be an issue for some people.

The owners made everything easy for us during our stay. The apartment itself is dated, but clean and in a good location.

This would suit a younger group of travelers, and I'd recommend it to them. The apartment and its location are excellent, though there are two things to consider: it's on the fourth floor with no elevator, and a nearby nightclub plays music until 1 a.m. The music is great, but it could keep you up if you go to bed early.

The place was very clean, the location was great, and getting the keys was straightforward. It could work well for older people or small children, but keep in mind there are still quite a few stairs to climb.
