RS Porto Flats

The bed and the view from the window are the only things we liked. We’ve spent most of our time out, so we decided not to cancel, but we’ve already complained on Booking. The listing bears little resemblance to what we found, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the positive reviews on different platforms stay up while negative ones get deleted. The apartment looked reasonably clean at first, but up close it needs renovating. The kitchen counter is barely supported by a few wobbly IKEA-like pegs, the washing machine is rusty, and the floor is badly scratched. The only window has an aluminum frame rather than plastic, so noise comes straight in. If you have trouble sleeping, this place isn’t for you. The door lock also squeals horribly when you turn it. The bathroom was a nightmare: the door looked moldy and had stains at the bottom, the frame was black near the floor, the sealant was sloppily done, and there wasn’t any hand soap. We just hope we don’t get sick after staying here. A bag of trash was left outside the other apartment on our floor from 9 p.m. the previous night. It smelled like unwashed socks, and when we opened our door the odor came straight in. The apartments are barely 1.5 meters apart, and it was unbearable. Support didn’t seem to care. The Wi-Fi never worked, just showing “incorrect password” or “unable to connect.” They claim to offer 24/7 support, but after 8 p.m. the replies felt like they were mocking us, saying nobody else had reported a problem. Two of us tried with dozens of devices and still couldn’t get online. We’ve traveled a lot, and this was the first “hotel” we’ve encountered with service this poor and no working Wi-Fi, especially in central Porto where visitors come from all over. After we reported it, they eventually stopped replying and told us to contact another number. That person seemed clueless and asked what the issue was without reading our complaint. Booking told us to put all problems in the chat because WhatsApp was only for pictures. Why should we have to chase the same problem across multiple chats? Minus 10 stars for the service.
