Supernova-Hostel

For a hostel in such a central location, the price was very reasonable. I stayed in a four-bed room that had plenty of space, plus its own bathroom and toilet, which made things really comfortable. The service and cleanliness were excellent. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in for a long time, and I was very happy with it.

Dania gave us some great recommendations, and the other guys were helpful too, though I didn’t catch their names. The hospitality really stuck with us. We’d only planned on one night in Porto at the start of the month, but ended up staying three. The place was kept in good shape, cleaned every day and family friendly. We were lucky to have friendly, respectful roommates, so it was quiet and we slept well. The location worked perfectly, a few minutes from everything but far enough out of the center for quieter nights. If I go backpacking in Porto again, I’ll come back.

The backyard outdoor area is such a nice place to relax with your pet on a summer afternoon. There’s lots of shade, and the café has a good range of food and drinks. We love lounging there.

For what we paid, we expected a more premium hostel, so it didn’t feel like good value. We ended up leaving earlier than planned. It was clean, but there were a lot of downsides: it was too expensive, there was no kitchen or fridge, and the place was noisy, humid and warm. There weren’t enough toilets, and towels and shower soap weren’t provided.
