Rosa on the staff and the owner were both lovely and welcoming. The Quinta is beautiful, and the natural wine they make there is really good. We’ve already been twice.

A peaceful stay in a recently renovated farm property, with lovely surroundings above the Douro River. Quinta de Casalmato in Resende has great amenities and warm hospitality, and it’s easy to see why families, couples and anyone after a quiet break rate it so highly.

We even got to try the landlord’s port wine, and there’s a great restaurant nearby plus a small village just a five minute drive away. The house is clean and cozy, and the breakfast was tasty, especially the marmalade that tasted like Grandma made it with love. It’s such a warm, lovely place, very quiet and a great escape from the big city. There’s also a games room with billiards, board games and books, along with a bar. Definitely recommend it.

A real hidden gem, with cozy rooms, friendly staff and a stunning view of the Douro. Thanks, Carlos José.

The hilltop location meant we were glad to have the honor bar, where we could take a bottle of wine and pay later without leaving the hotel. Breakfast was good too. Our room was a good size and very comfortable, and the grounds are beautiful. With such warm, friendly staff, our one night here was one of the most enjoyable hotel stays my wife and I have had.
