A Casa do Outeiro

Markets are within walking distance, though the house sits a little off the main road. It's spacious, with four rooms and a big outdoor area, and there's regular cleaning at no extra cost. The place is somewhat old, which becomes noticeable after a few days, but it was still clean. Being beside the river also meant we saw some odd insects. Still, I'd recommend it for a large family.

We only needed a place for three nights, and this house had far more room than two of us needed: four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a big eat-in kitchen, dining room, and living room. It's in the center of Ribeira Grande, São Miguel Island, right beside the Ribeira, a running creek.

Vanessa and her team were attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout, and we'd happily recommend the place. The garden is lovely and roomy, with a vine-covered gazebo and a table for around six. Inside, the house is bright, quiet, and very clean, with spacious rooms, kitchen, closets, and lots of storage. Regular cleaning is provided, and with the windows open you can hear the river at night. The beds are large and comfortable, and the windows have mosquito screens. The kitchen is pleasant and well equipped with all the utensils we needed, plus a good washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, and iron. We enjoyed our stay at A Casa do Outeiro so much that we're planning to come back soon.

My friends say it's excellent. I haven't been there myself yet.
