Tagus Host

A really kind and helpful host, and a simple breakfast with plenty stocked. The only thing I missed was being able to cook for myself, since there’s only a microwave.

Don Carlos is an extremely friendly and supportive host, and gladly helps with any request. The location, fair price, and even better service are the best parts of this hostel. The building is quite old, though I’d call it classic and vintage. It’s at the top of the building with no elevator, so keep that in mind if you have heavy luggage.

The breakfast was good and the place very clean, but a single room with a single bed wasn’t worth the price. I’ve stayed in bigger rooms for less.

The manager was really nice and spoke English very well. I liked the place a lot. There’s a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of shared bathrooms, and it’s close to cafes and restaurants, right beside the huge weekly market site. Try the Indian restaurant next door. It doesn’t look like much, but the food is excellent, the prices are good, and the staff are very nice.
