The owner made everything easy from check-in through check-out, and was friendly and helpful. Vila Paim was a great base for exploring the island, and it was a pleasure to return each day to such a comfortable place. The house was very spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed. It’s quiet, with amazing ocean views. We had a fantastic stay, highly recommended if you’re visiting Pico!

There’s parking at the house, and despite being right by the road, the light traffic wasn’t a problem. Furnas de Santo Antonio is five minutes away by car, or about a 20-minute walk, though the way back is quite uphill. Poças de São Roque is an eight-minute drive, and there are shops in São Roque for groceries. The house itself is very spacious: three double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a huge dining room, and a large kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine, and oven. There’s also a spectacular terrace and garden with a barbecue, and the whole house gets lots of natural light. Luís, the manager and owner, is very friendly and happy to share practical tips and island curiosities about Pico. I’d give it a 9. With a pool, it’d be a 10!
