Paraiso Escondido

Berny and Glenn are such kind, warm hosts. They were happy to offer recommendations and spend time chatting, and we'd definitely come back. The retreat itself feels thoughtfully put together, from the comfortable common rooms to the large rooms, each with its own tasteful decor. We enjoyed seeing all the different rooms. There's a big pool and a breathtaking view over Alentejo from the hilltop. Breakfast was excellent, and dinner is available too if you'd rather stay in for the day. It really does feel like a little paradise.

Our Pilates practice had a perfect home in the air-conditioned studio, with lovely views from inside. The pool was divine, and there were so many beautiful spots to sit, unwind, and take in the surroundings. Paraiso Escondido was a peaceful, stunning setting for our Pilates Retreat 2025, with amazing views in every direction. The hosts were wonderful people and went out of their way to make our stay special. The rooms were spotless, with individual, high-quality interiors, and every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was delicious. The chef was creative and clearly knew their craft. It was a faultless, very special trip. We’ll be back, and I’d highly recommend a visit. It’s a hidden gem that exceeded our expectations.

The food was a highlight for us. Gisella made a vegetarian dinner that was full of flavor, nourishing, and creative, and you could sense the care in each dish. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and grateful for this gem in Alentejo. The owners’ hospitality made the stay especially memorable. Berny, Glen and Gisella put real care into creating meaningful experiences, and their kindness and presence came through everywhere. The tree cabin had beautiful views across the hills, and Berny’s touches, like the lovely scent on the cushions and towels, made the rooms feel calm and cared for. The yoga studio and massage room are tucked into nature and make it easy to unwind and reconnect. The whole place has the warmth and personal feel of a boutique bed and breakfast, with a great bed and an equally great breakfast. Paraíso Escondido was one of our most authentic stays.

You can spend much of your time surrounded by nature and quiet here, which made it wonderfully relaxing. Glenn and Berny were welcoming and helpful, and their suggestions for restaurants, places to visit, and massages at the spa were always spot on. We loved the spacious, tastefully designed rooms and appreciated the green mindset behind what they do. Breakfast was healthy and delicious, as was the dinner they serve every couple of days. Our stay at Paraiso Escondido was exactly what we hoped for and more. I hope we get to return.
