The biggest problem was the fire alarm going off on two nights in a row. With reception closed and no emergency number, there was no way to reach staff. We only learned the next day, after asking ourselves, that another guest had been smoking in their room. Nobody apologized or showed any understanding, and there was no compensation for two stressful nights without proper sleep. The manager's response was to switch off the alarm completely, which doesn't seem safe. The place otherwise has clean rooms, a lovely garden, and a nice pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast was okay, and the fresh fruit was a plus.

We loved staying here. The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the swimming pool was nice. It’s well placed for hiking and exploring the north, and I’d recommend a stay.

A perfect place to unwind, with a nice restaurant and friendly staff. It’s quiet too, without car noise. Next time we’ll stay more than one night :)

Breakfast was awesome every morning, and it was great value overall. The staff were great, and the location is beautiful, with several viewpoints nearby. Parking was okay, about what you'd expect elsewhere on the island. We didn't get to use the pool or hot tub because our days started early and ended late, and the pool closes at 8pm (20h). The bed felt a bit hard, though we were so tired each day that it probably didn't matter. We'll stay again. I'd suggest a smaller car unless you're traveling with a large group, since some nearby roads can be tricky in a bigger vehicle.

After a full day of walks and winery visits with friends, this is a lovely, elegant place to rest. The sauna, pool, and hot tub are superb, and the facilities overall are excellent. The food is fantastic, with a great wine selection and madeira rum, and breakfast is excellent too. It's part of rural tourism in Madeira, and we're planning to return.
