Casa Grainha Vidigueira

Airbnb charged me straight away for a booking for two adults and a child, even though confirmation was still pending. About 20 minutes later, the host messaged to say they couldn't accommodate us. If they can't or don't want to host, why keep the listing available? Thanks to Airbnb and “David” for nothing. This is why Booking.com remains my go-to for accommodation: clear, quick, and without these tricks.

We woke to the rooster, the bell, and birdsong, which was lovely. We stayed two nights at Casa Grainha in Vila de Frades, and the house felt welcoming from the moment we arrived. It blends rustic and modern styles, is thoughtfully decorated, and has everything needed, including a well-equipped kitchen, air conditioning, and generous rooms. The outdoor area was beautifully kept, and even though we visited in winter, we could picture it as a summer oasis, with a pool that's just right for a couple. The whole place seems designed with guests in mind. It's a lovely base for exploring Alentejo, enjoying its food, and tasting the local wines. We'd happily stay again. Thank you, David and Verónica! The photos show the house as it really is, and it had everything we needed while away from home. We also loved the bottle of white wine David left for us, it was really good. Great value for money, and we'll certainly come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa da Grainha, despite a small issue that wasn't the owners' fault.
